Help us transcribe census and street directory documents

The heart of the MyHouseMyStreet system uses material derived from the census and directory records for the city. We already have many volunteers transcribing such documents here at The Regency Town House in Brunswick Square and all are welcome to join our weekly groups that undertake this task. To participate please contact us.

Research YourHouseYourStreet

MyHouseMyStreet volunteers are already researching the history of numerous local streets, particularly those located in: the North Laine area, the lower end of St James Street and the east side of Brunswick Town.

We provide volunteers with training sessions so that they can learn how to produce street histories and help with our targeted locations (you can also opt to start researching the history of your own street or other location of your choice). To assist this work, we have developed a set of templates for the histories, which helps guide the research effort.

In time, we will upload all completed street histories.
